Reina currently has her studio at SAW “Studio for Arts and Works” in Carbondale. She visited Bariloche last May with the Sister Cities artist exchange program where she met Barbara among other local artists. Barbara was invited to participate in the exchange this fall in Aspen but unfortunately she will not be able to attend in person due to a recent injury. However, we are very pleased that we will be able to exhibit her work of the last 20 years, here at the Red Brick in Aspen.

Barbara Drausal’s artwork will also be displayed and available for sale at the Basalt Farmers Market this Sunday, September 22nd, along with Reina Katzenberger’s design & printing project. We encourage our community to participate in these events which support our local artists, both from The Roaring Fork Valley and our sister city of Bariloche.

A little bit of history…

Bariloche, Argentina, has been an active sister city of Aspen since 2003. The artist exchange program started in 2014 by the initiative of local artist Missy Prudden and Bariloche artist Paula Fisher who still play a key role in this program.

Our mission is to strengthen the relationship between our communities through Art: sharing and appreciating the work of our local artists- that is an expression of our culture- exchanging ideas and techniques, and generating expansion of artistic opportunities.

We invite anyone from the Roaring Fork Valley who might be interested to participate in this program. For more information please contact Lala Caffarone (lalacaff@hotmail.com) or Griff Smith (griff@sopris.net)
